Big Battlefield Bike Ride and other events....

Well what a week, training has been OK, I did my long run round Hyde Park and Green Park as staying at the RAF Club for the weekend and it was rather bearutiful and nice (although Londoner's don't say hello to fellow runners - I soon realised its becuase there it so bloomin many of them!).  Getting a little nervous about the half marathon but I think I will get round

NOW IF YOU MISSED IT I WAS ON BFBS ON FRIDAY MORNING! It was possibly the most nerve racking 5 minutes of my life but was good, apparently I only sounded nervous if you knew me.

And my Mum just tipped my over the £1000 mark so all good on the fundraising. I need to chase the letters I send to coporate sponsors and that is tonights job! I have added a link to my radio appearence on the new "links" page!

I'm I the only one who was glad to see rain?? The week started with good intentions, I left home at 8am to get to the gym before starting work at 10:30, within about 15 minutes I realised that getting to the gym and to work was not going to happen so spent the next two hours getting to Farnborough - was at work until 8 so swimming session off too!

The week got a bit better with a half hour treadmill run on Tuesday and then the white stuff was back so Wednesday training was gone. Thursday saw me back on the treadmill doing intervals which ended with a broken Ipod  it spectacually flew off the the shelf it was sat on bounced twice on the treadmill and then slid halfway across the gym - I must see if it has burst back to life!  Friday morning saw a double session of spinning and swimming and Sunday another spinning session.

I was more than a little gutted that i had booked into spinning as the sun was shinning and probably should have gone for a long run, but it was the brilliant instructor and they charge if you don't go.

I am hoping I will get back on track this week with a few more sessions. I am hoping to get a long run in in Hyde Park on Saturday as staying in London and new surroundings should give me a bit of motivation.

In terms of my fundraising I have lept up this week mainly due to Tim's friends and colleagues so a huge thank you to all of you!
Not much news on the corporate sponsorhip but I had a call from BFBS on Friday and I need to call them. So hopefully will get some coverage from them and a bit more money rolling in!

I am sure we are all affected by the snow somehow and its certainly means my news years resolution has been broken!

So the most training I have done this week is tramping to the trian station or back again for 45 mins through the snow. It was actualy pretty tough on the thighs so I am hoping I haven't been set back to far. I have now managed to get my car off the drive so hopefully I may make it to the gym this week.

I have spent some time sorting some corporate sponsorship. I am selling space on my kit (see Sponsor my Kit section) in the hope to raise about £900. So far Explore have bought the front of my top and Navigate International the space on the sleeves, so  a big thank you to them for getting the ball rolling and hopefully over the next week so two the other 11 boxes will be sold.

I am also starting to organise my pub quiz so watch this space!

As predicted the holiday period has not been good for training! The intention was there - I took my running gear to Yorkshire but the roads and paths were pure ice so would have broken a limb or two if I had tried! But now it is 2010 and the year that I have to do all of this stuff so better get training!

My New Year Resolution is to not miss a days training and sort out a plan that will get me through this easily....

My fundraising will now be in full swing - I am on £505 (thanks Emma and Laura for pushing me over the £500 mark!) and I have been printing letters for my "Sponsor My Kit" and need to sort out the venue for my pub quiz (to be held on Feb or March). I also have to plan a wedding in between all of this, I think it may be a busy year!!
