Big Battlefield Bike Ride and other events....

I haven't blogged for a while so sorry if you have been following me!

The last 6 weeks have been good, I'm feeling like I will complete all of this and seem to be getting the training balance right.
The main focus had been running and I got some good hilly runs in before finally completing the Reading Half Marathon. This took place yesterday, it was pretty chilly to start with but the sun came out and it was almost hot! The route took us through some of Reading's residential areas before going through the city centre to lots of shouts and words of encouragement. Then it was through more residential areas and up a hill before heading back towards to Madjeski Stadium for a amazing finish in the stadium - I had to do a sprint finish mainly to beat Scooby Do but also to get my under 2hours 30 time. So now its time to get on the bike!

The bike training has started, I have been doing about 20 miles during the week and have done one 45 miler at the weekend. Now the running can be neglected a bit I plan to ride to work twice a week and a longer one at the weekend. We shall see if the legs allow a ride tomorrow! Very much looking forward to it now, although it is going to be a hugh challenge.

My new look it padded lyrca and high vis jacket and a sore bum no doubt!

Fundraising is going well - I have hit the half way mark. Now email me to buy a quiz ticket!
